Clothed in Dignity: A 2019 Fundraiser Challenge

“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.”

Theodore Roosevelt

You know when you get an idea, and it won’t leave your mind? It’s like having a tenant inside your brain that you cannot evict, nor would you desire it to leave. Some called it obsessive, some call it overthinking, but I tend to think those ideas are simply a way God works.

~~~~~~~
He gave me an idea about four months ago. An idea that seemed a little wacky. I’m not sure how it started. It’s like He incepted my dreams, planting it deep in my brain and giving it a heavy dose of water. There was no Leonardo DiCaprio or Joseph Gordon-Levitt though. {Sad face.} Just the idea.
Could I wear a dress every day for a year? Could it be for advocacy? Could my wearing a dress every day speak for the thousands of people who do not have a voice?
My questions were answered with unspeakable peace when all the answers were “yes.”
The challenge: Wear a dress every day for a year, sharing and advocating for survivors of sex trafficking and prostitution, inviting people to give to my challenge and support Peoria Home.
I said yes.
I invite you to observe my challenge, cheer me on when I shout, “I wanna wear pants!!” and if you are prompted to give to support Peoria Home in the process, answer the question He has asked.
More information to come. The challenge starts January 1, 2019.
Thank you.
